Road Trip of Vision

Thursday night I drove to Asbury College to meet up with friends and listen to Pete Greig continue to unveil the vision that he had received from God. As 274 continues to be unveiled to me, I have felt led to listen to those that God is calling out to lead in this revival of our generation. By the end of Friday morning I was content that my purpose was simply to be reminded that God is staying true to this vision and that I was sent to Asbury to encourage some close friends. It was at the end o fthe morning session that the CampusAmerica team began to unveil a vision tht they had been given from God. As they spoke this vision to us, I felt goosebumps on my arms. Pete began to build off the vision that had just been spoken about and as he described it, he started saying almost the exact words of the vision for 274! It was weird. We had never talked and he had never seen our vision. Until this weekend I had a concern that this 24/7 prayer movement was going to become focused on events and stadiums filled with students. But as he began to speak I heard the exact same vision that God had given me this summer.

The next step is simple: it's time to invite the dead to join the game.

The Vision of You

Last week Sara and I spent time with friends at a Shane and Shane Concert. The Shanes were performing their new cd "Pages". They began their set with a song of prayer called "The Vision of You". As they sang, my heart wanted to leap from my chest and I wanted to shout, "Yeah!" As the prayer continued I felt God affirming me in the vision of FSM and 274. "may the vision of you be the death of me" rang in my soul as the battle cry of 274. Revolution is here! Students will stand for truth as they defend the defensless, serve the poor, and love the broken. Take a moment to pray these lyrics to God. Let him call you out through them. Get excited that God is singing the same song through so many people from so many different places.

274 Movement: Vision

Revolution has broken through. Movements across the globe are raging against the lukewarm, consumer driven faith of the church today. This revolution is fueled by nothing less than the presence of God bringing light to the darkness of this world. This generation knows that He will be glorified when the nations seek His face and cry out to Him for truth and grace. So this generation fights for truth, justice, community, and love. The 274 movement is taking its place in the revolution. The Movement will rage not in stadiums of debate, but in prayer rooms filled with tears and sacrifice. The Movement will rage as students wrestle with the power of truth in their own lives. The Movement will rage as they fight to desire God more than anything of this world. Raging on soccer fields, in classrooms, during musicals, and band concerts, the movement will reach beyond the daily life of a student and into their soul, cultivating passion and purpose beyond any human goal. It will unleash a generation of warriors for the Kingdom of God who will fight to live dangerously pure claiming victories as students join the Kingdom of the King and live passionately for Him. It will unveil a holiness in each warrior that is captivating. The Movement will bring one desire, one thing, one savior, one king, one Jesus. The world will take notice as it is healed, redeemed, broken, transformed, rebuked, and loved by the grace of the King. Are you ready to move?

It's coming! June 24th! That's the date that it will be revealed. I believe that it is coming at just the right time. There will be intrigue, confusion, commitment, passion, and possibly.....IT. If IT starts right, then the next 2 years will be an adventure that we will love being a part of. I hope that you'll be at MOSAIC on June 24th to find out what IT is. Between now and then, pray for me, that I will listen, because just ONE word from God can change everything.

God is stirring us. He is moving us to something more than what we know now. He is calling out those who are willing to live passionately for Him. This is both excititng and sorrowful as I watch new faces enter the Kingdom of God with passion while Christians who have been called out by God for years sit complacently on the sidelines. This stirring is leading us to our knees in prayer...something we are reluctant to do because we want to have control...but it is happening. It's moving on college campuses and through student ministries...A passion for prayer. Not just the meager offering of a morning devotion or prayer before a meal, but sacrificial prayer where sleep is lost, games are skipped, television shows are forgotton, just to cry out to God. Will you join this movement of prayer. God will continue to stir us and bring attention to himself if we don't give it to him freely. Once we give him our undivided attention, he will move in a mighty way of revolution in this country and in our world. Have you been stirred?

This was a great weekend. As I meditated on God this morning, I realized just how much he had been speaking to me this weekend. A lot of times we hope for an audible voice from God, but are left wanting because we never hear it. This weekend was an assurance that God does speak and that most of the time he uses other believers to speak for him. I'm starting this week knowing that I'm loved, supported, prayed for, and that friends have my back in this spiritual war. God is an amazing God who says just the right things at just the right time. If you haven't heard God speak in a while you may need to evaluate your relationships....is there anyone around you that God could be using to speak to you?

What a week! Vacation was amazing. I can't ever spend too much time with my girls. Sunnie found a new love for Dale and Chip and Sara had in her words, "the best birthday ever!" Back to the great calling of youth ministry. Refuge was powerful last night as junior high students committed to live a life of purity. Our worship team continues to grow spiritually and in their talent level...it is becoming easier and easier to enter into the presence of God under their leadership every week. God is awesome!

Another Great night

Wednesday night. Amanda and Whitney came ready to give their lives to God. They confessed his name and were baptized into him. It was another amazing moment in this great story that God is writing. I am in awe of Him. It will continue this weekend as Nicole and Evan confess Him and accept his gift.

There is however, a pause in this story. While God is continuing to move in this story, many of the characters have stopped. The hype of Believe faded within a week and students are wondering, wanting, yearning, for truth. This pause cannot last long, or Satan will steal us away. We have to fight for the desire of our heart. This is my prayer for our Refuge ministry, that they will fight for the desire of their heart.

Suits, ties, formal dresses, parents, and mentors...not your normal night at MOASIC. I was in awe of God last night as He moved in our hearts affirming us in our lives of purity. It always amazes me at how God can say just the right thing at the right time to set off a revival in His name. He spoke the right words into the hearts of our high school students last night as they took the challenge to live pure. We had never attempted a Knighting ceremony before, but I could sense the power of the Spirit behind our words as we knighted students in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. One of the most affirming parts of the night was seeing the line of parents who chose to commit to a life of purity for their marriages and for their children. I woke this morning in awe of God. In all, over 70 students and a handful of adults committed to live pure last night and this coming Sunday we'll celebrate the baptisms of Nicole and Evan who realized that before they could live pure, they needed the saving grace of Jesus.

In the past month God has revealed Himself to us. For me it began as I sat in a breakout session led by John Piper at the Passion Conference in Atlanta, GA. I felt God lift a burden from me and found a new passion and desire for him ignited within me. It was a moment where I wanted to leave the session just to tell everyone what God had just done to me, but I was so into what Piper was saying that I wanted to hear more from him. As we left the conference there were so many things going through my mind...

Over a month later I found myself standing in front of junior high students, preaching the intro to a message when God told me to stop talking and turn the night over to the students...so I did. They responded by committing to a life of purity and making a 2 year commitment to refrain from dating so that they would have more time to chase God...

Later that night Caty, Sarah, Sarah, and Stephanie came to me and shared that they were ready to accept Christ into their lives....then Landon came to his brother Logan and shared the same thing....and Evan went to his mom- same craving.

We came home and baptized Sarah, Stephanie and Landon.

Wednesday night we got together for Refuge and God let me preach the message that I started on Saturday night. Then He moved again. We had planned on baptizing Caty and Sarah, then Ashley came....then Kristen....next was Samantha....followed by Shawn, Laryssa, and Leslie. We sang.

Atleast 3 more students are planning on being baptized this Wednesday as they accept the greatest gift that God has ever given us.

We haven't caught God yet, but we know we're on the right journey.
